Mountain of Youth

In 2021, Kalani founded 'Mountain of Youth', a filmmaking academy designed as an innovative mentorship program for youth from underprivilged and diverse backgrounds to learn how to transform their stories through the power of cinema.

Mountain of Youth is the only program of its kind in Australia, where young people have an opportunity to be mentorred by working industry professionals as well as a platform for their personal experience and stories to be empowered and shared on screen in professional productions.

Mountain of Youth provides a much needed platform for the voices of diverse and underprivilged young people to be heard in a complicated and changing world, passing on the skills of storytelling to a new generation of storytellers in a space dominated by privileged voices.
